• A good book review on the "The presentation secrets of Steve Job" can be found over at Duarte's blog. In case you don't know who Nancy Duarte is, she is the owner of the company that came out with Al Gore's "The Inconvenient Truth". I get plenty of corporate presentation tips from her although I still find it hard to apply some of the design principles into corporate slides.

• Scott Kelby has a recent posting on what every new Lightroom user should know. Check it out especially in particularly that you are new to Lightroom as well as trying to figure out what Lightroom is about.

So I got carried away with work yesterday and totally forgot that it was Wednesday. After being carried away, I ended up being so excited over catching Transformers 2 that the movie ended so late and I just got back. Yesterday, I went for dinner with a bunch of crazy photographers (so crazy that they can even make balloon dolls for you) at Delicious at Midvalley. Me, being me, driving all the way from Cyberjaya, I ended up taking photos with my trusty iPhone instead. But today is not about EatFest, today it is about Clicks, and by clicks I mean my usual list of interesting links.

• Has the law finally caught up with Rapidshare?


• Check out this huge debate on what went on at Matt's Adobe Lightroom post. Very interesting and great arguments from both sides. The story originated from a guy who wrote a nifty little program that when you enter in a Flickr image, it will calculate out and create a Lightroom preset to achieve that effect. Some say it is stealing but some say that it isn't because no one can copyright Adobe Lightroom settings. If that is the case, no one can use +10 Saturation, + 20 vivid and vignette.


• Become a better photographer through the critique of others. What can I say, the title of that article says it all. Which was why I implemented what I have learned from Louis Pang's workshop and did a simple critique session for the workshop which I held recently as well.

A brief Wednesday Clicks this week but watch out for this space, I have a whole new blog revamp coming up soon and no, I didn't do it myself. So it is going to look way awesome!

Its Wednesday today and you know what that means, more interesting links out! I have for one thing learned recently that it takes friggin a lot of discipline to work and study at the same time. Anyway, before I skew off even more, let's check out what is new this week.

• I know everyone is waiting for the iPhone 3.0 OS to be release for their iPhones. Well this isn't really a link but here are some links to some new applications which will be launched as well. Tweetdeck for the iPhone (YAY!) and MapQuest is releasing their alternative software to the GoogleMaps.


• I posted in last week's Wednesday Clicks about a video which theBackPackr created for the McDonald's competition to win the iPhone. Guess what? They won the challenge and are now proud parents of the iPhone 3G.


• There are rumours of a leaked press material for the upcoming Nikon D300s. I am not too sure myself if it might be real.


• If you wanted to know more about Adobe Lightroom and how to maximise your workflow, Jon Low, a professional wedding photographer of IdealWedding has just the right answer for you. Thanks so much for sharing Jon!


• Check out Timothy Tiah's blog post on his holiday to Phuket. For those of you who are curious on just who Tim is, he is one of the founders of NuffNang which is a blog advertising network. One of the reason why it's up on this week's WC is that there is an interesting link in his blog post I found, it was in regards to a travel agency which handled his trip, PYOTravel.Com. I checked out the site and it definitely has very cheap prices. Site booked marked.

Before I finish this post, I would like to remind you that there are 3 ways you can eat "pan mee".

The first way, which is the most common one is to eat it in the form of a noodle soup.

Anyway, this is another branch of super kitchen's chilli pan mee which is located in SS2, near Ang Kee restaurant and further down from Kayu Nasi Kandar behind Lim Mee Yoke restaurant.

Shootfest came and shootfest finished in a blink of an eye for me but instead of dreaming of the past, I will strive to move forward. Forward with this week's Wednesday Clicks, that is. I also realised that a post without pictures is definitely boring! So here is a image I took while I was away in NYC.

• In case you have been living under a coconut for the past couple of days, Apple has announce loads of stuff at their recent WWDC conference. First up is their new refurbished line of 15" MacBook Pros and 17" MacBook Pros. Oh right, I shouldn't forget, 13" MacBook Pros. Yes, Apple is now calling all unibody laptops, MacBook Pros while they maintain a single white MacBook in their line up. Also to be anticipated is Snow Leopard which is being offered at USD$29. How cheap is that? And what everyone has been waiting for as well, the announcement of the Apple iPhone 3G-S.

Ahoy there, what happened to last week's posting? It seemed to have dissapeared but to be perfectly honest, I was busy catching the Champions League final match between Man Utd and Barcelona in a local Irish Pub near my hotel on 50th Street in Manhattan. The atmosphere was great, the pub was split with supporters from both sides sitting at different sections and me and Jamie had a huge plate of nachos to split between the two of us.



Look at the size of the nachos! All covered in cheese and sour cream, yumz!

Anyway back to the point, let's have some interesting links here.

• First of all, I definitely have to highlight this video made by my friend, theBackpackr, watch it here and you will laugh your head off. I guess some people are willing to go to extreme lengths just to get the Apple 3G iPhone. Otherwise, for the rest of you camera fans out there, the video was shot entirely with the new Canon 5D Mk2.


• Secondly, as part of the WeddingStory team, I was unfortunate fortunate not to have been to Bangladesh because apparently there was an outbreak over there which some people say is more serious than the H1N1 virus. As you can see from this video here, Malaysians who are there tend to end up going crazy, I really mean going crazy. Don't believe me? You definitely have to watch the video then to understand my point.


• Only in Malaysia can you confiscate someone's shirt because of some of the "controversial" designs on it and when the designer asks what are the guidelines for designs, there are no guidelines at all!

Since I am on a totally different time zone (its supposed to be 1.20pm in KL now but its only 12.20am here in Chicago) so I decided to post pone the post a little bit to suit my time here. Frankly, between 8am-7pm classes all day, I am thankful that the sun does appear about later than usual so that it doesn't feel that late. But nevertheless, I haven't gotten used to waking up at 6am everyday so that I can head over for breakfast before class. Food here is absolutely fantastic and fresh strawberries every morning! Ok, I have to be honest, my breakfast is usually made up of pork cumberland sausages, with pork bacon and scrambled eggs and of course, the creme de la creme, free Starbucks coffee. Yeah, that is the life I can get used to.

• Chase Jarvis has posted on his blog a post entitled, "Shake Your Tree", which is an interesting read especially for you photographers out there. He talks about how to start shaking our own tree and start doing something instead of laying about idle. Personally, my plan is to start taking more photos with my iPhone and look out for interesting subjects and frames about.


• Apparently news are going about that Rocky will be the CEO of Malay Mail. According to Rocky himself, it is completely wrong.

• ShootFest 001 has reached 65 registrants so far and the max number of registrants who can attend is only 80. That means there is only 15 more spots available. I do encourage everyone to participate and find a session to present, it can be either 15mins or 30mins and the rest could be time for networking. Let's all get out of our own comfort zone and share with one another ok?


• Apparently some dude in China is saying that he knows of what are the new specs for the upcoming iPhone. He claims that it will have a capacity of 32Gb, a 3.2MP cam with autofocus ability and a 600MHz processor. I do think that the additional capacity and memory bump speed and the autofocus ability of the cam is a nice welcome.

Heck, i love Canon's 5D Mk2 for its amazing 21MP of pure joy as well as Canon's 50mm and 85mm f/1.2 L lenses. Although there are rumours that Nikon will be releasing their latest AF-S 85mm f/1.4 as well as the 28mm f/1.4. Definitely going to be some sweet lenses but after my recent purchases, I am flat out broke.

Oh my gosh, its Wednesday and I totally forgot about this post. Nevertheless, it is always better late than never right?

I can't believe it that I actually went a whole week without any updates and I really dread to see two Wednesday Clicks post back to back in my blog. Nevertheless, I will try updating my blog a little bit more but of course I have been completely busy over the entire weekend.

The Pikom PC Fair was a dissapointment for me, mainly because I expected too much for it and of course the extremely packed exhibition halls as well as countless sales people trying to push flyers in my face to sign up for their broadband/mobile/laptop promotions and coupled with the huge amount of stalls selling printer inks, I guess it was just too much for me. Still, I managed to walk away with a wireless keyboard+mouse set from Microsoft.

I really think that time is really an essence that we cannot waste. Then again there are a lot of things that we do waste that might affect us in a subtle but yet realistic way.

Last but not least, there has been so much hype about Earth Hour and all the Earth Hour parties this coming Saturday. Yes I do support the notion of everyone turning off the lights for an hour but I feel that the only way this will make an impact is that if people could take one thing away from this event is that they learn to conserve energy. A simple gesture like turning off lights when there is no one in the room or talking a short walk to your grocery store instead of driving 2 minutes down the road, every little small thing adds up.

Now the funny part about Earth Hour is a question I would definitely like to post up, how much extra energy has already been consumed/used to promote Earth Hour? I see a huge ass billboard with LIGHTS on it running along the highways. So you turn off your lights for an hour, versus the 1 month of electricity usage to power those billboards? The irony of it all right?

My take is, yes, celebrate Earth Hour and turn off your lights. Then go to what ever party that you may be attending consuming your normal amount of electricity powering those huge ass amplifiers and disco lights. But take home a small fact about energy consumption. Remember, turning off the lights for a room overnight is also equivalent to heating up 10,000 cups of tea.

This week has been a miserable week for me as I am down with a flu and thanks to the flu, a fever as well. And to make things even worse, because I am sick, my immune system is low hence germs decided to attack my gums and here I am with swollen infected gums, barely being able to eat anything without feeling any pain.
