How was your labour day weekend?

Thanks to a little something called holiday in lieu, I managed to get a Friday off last week and spent the time on the golf course together with my high school friend, my colleague and another mutual friend. Tried out playing at the Monterez Golf and Country club for the first time and boy, was it a difficult course. Now I admit I am very much still a beginner at the game of golf so it was rather fun trying out the course but getting whooped by the rest wasn't that fun (thanks to my super competitive nature).

In total, I hit a 129 on the course and even had a 1.5 hour break between the two nine holes thanks to extreme weather such as heavy rain and lightning. So much for me trying to break a hundred by the end of this year but hey, I have about 7 more months to improve. For some reason, I kept hitting into every water hazard there was on the first 9 holes so I definitely have to head back to the driving range to practice my swing again. That was my Friday.

On Saturday, I helped Nick out for a quick shoot in the morning, went for brunch at Raju's off Jalan Gasing with an old uni mate and then headed over to Tropicana Grande to check out the new (and very expensive) condominiums which was opening up soon. After that, I headed to Carcosa Seri Negara for the first time to assist Grace for a maternity shoot which was totally fun!

After the shoot and several traffic jams later, Munz, Alex, Grace and I went for dinner at 1 Utama, trying out New York New York Deli which I thought was only mediocre. After dinner, we headed to GSC to catch Ironman 2 which was totally awesome.

On Sunday, I was out sick with a flu so I slept in and tried to rest until lunch time where I had to run a couple of errands at The Curve and then later in the evening out to USJ to check out more developments and finally at night, dinner at Pantai Seafood with the rest of the gang. Managed to order the "deep fried soft shell crabs with salted egg yolk" which was awesome and compared to the last time, we managed to finish it all up (the last time my colleagues ordered 49 crabs in total which was a bit of an overkill).

So that was my rather packed but interesting weekend. I am still struggling with a bit of the flu and thanks to Munz for providing me with some clarinase. I definitely need more rest and drink more fluids.

How was your weekend?

Introducing the Stories Facebook Page

Now in case you do not know that if you scroll to my menu bar on my blog and select wedding photography, you get directed to http://www.stories.my. Why do you ask? That is because most of my wedding photography work is up on their site together with Grace's and Johan's work.

But of course that might confuse some people especially with the inquiries that comes through to me, I usually have to respond a little differently for wedding packages and requests. Anyhow, that isn't the story today. The story today is the launch of the new Stories Facebook Page, yay!

About half of the number of inquiries that we get originate from Facebook, so it only made sense to have a page where everyone can interact, discuss questions regarding wedding photography (or your gown, or deco even if you wanted to!). It also features ongoing promotions, and contests in the future.

Head on over here to find out more about the page :)

RedNinja.tv got Mojo? Camp

Yes I didn't manage to squeeze in a blog post last week. Why? Mainly I was busy with work, late teleconferences as well as preparing with the RedNinja.tv gang for the got Mojo? seminar and camp over the weekend. Definitely had an amazing time with the participants and all of the great fun and sharing that we had. Totally sapped all of my energy from me until I got sick on Monday when I returned to work.

It was such an honour to have Wiki and Ilona over as the main speakers and I am very sure that the participants had an equally fantastic time as well. Just search for the #gotMojo on Twitter and you will see their responses :)

Anyway, since a post should not have no images on it, I am going to post some shots which I took over the weekend.

I also liked this shot which Grace shot of me. She said I was doing the macarena which I don't recall that.

Big credits goes to:

Models: Rachel & Ser Young
Make Up & Hair: Shinny Ong (her work is amazing, just look at the models!)
Gowns by: Pretty In White (Pretty in White was one of our sponsors as well)

Couldn't have done it without them

Cameron Highlands Trip – Day 2

One of the places you must visit when you are at Cameron Highlands is the Boh' Tea Centre. Getting there is not an easy task and I would really advice against driving cars which are really huge as you might have to squeeze through oncoming traffic on a horrendous narrow path. Also car pool if necessary and try to use a 4 wheel drive just to feel a little bit more at ease.

But once you drive through the horrible stretch of road (don't forget to honk when you are approaching corners!), you reach the Boh Tea Centre which is surrounded by hills covered with tea leaf plantations. The sight itself was magnificent and you should be catching a couple of glimpses of the scenery on your way to the centre.

The moment you arrive at the parking lot, you get a view of the tea centre where you get to enjoy a nice cup of lovely tea as well as scones and strawberry jam.

Although the walk up there wasn't exactly an easy one, ok, maybe I was just out of shape. But the climb is definitely bearable and the cool air up there does help a lot.

But once you reach the top, you get welcomed with this incredible view of the valley surrounded with tea plantations.

When I was up there, I ended up taking loads of photos there that I completely forgotten about my tea and scones. Yes, I ate a bit but forgot to take the photos :P

The houses below are where the workers who worked at the tea plantation lived.

A quick group shot of us while we were still at the top of the tea centre.

Besides just the Boh Tea Plantation, there is another one which you will definitely pass by when you are driving up to Cameron Highlands, and that is the Cameronian Valley.

Personally I liked the view from here a little better and you get to walk through the tea plantation and can take really awesome portrait photos here as well. Make sure that you have good shoes on or else you might slip on the mud.

Frankly I am very proud of Cameron Highlands and it is indeed a great place to chill out, relax with friends and enjoy the cool breeze. Can't wait to plan my next trip there again and hopefully shoot more of the scenery as well as organize some portrait shoots there.

Also I will be posting up some portrait photos that were taken during the trip there as well in my next post :)
